The number of 14-16 students in years 9, 10 and 11 in secondary education in Yorkshire that are registered to take part in a Vocational Hair and/or Beauty Course with Dimensions Training Solutions from September is showing a healthy 20% increase on the 2010 September starts. This is in spite of challenging school budgets and the 'Wolf Review of Vocational Education' which many thought would affect recruitment onto vocational courses.he number of 14-16 students in years 9, 10 and 11 in secondary education in Yorkshire that are registered to take part in a Vocational Hair and/or Beauty Course with Dimensions Training Solutions from September is showing a healthy 20% increase on the 2010 September starts. This is in spite of challenging school budgets and the 'Wolf Review of Vocational Education' which many thought would affect recruitment onto vocational courses.Dimensions Founder & Chairman Bill Shaw said "this increase just goes to prove that forward thinking schools continue to realise that for many students the vocational option can be a real alternative to academia. These vocational options will give students the skills and knowledge that could lead to an Apprenticeship - the flagship of the Governments training plans for the youth of tomorrow." Two brand new academies, one in Featherstone and the other in South Kirkby, will be up and running offering a full range of courses from September 2011, with plans and discussions already underway for at least two more 'in school' academies for September 2012. |
