Apprenticeships have been around for hundreds of years and  parents and employers know that an Apprenticeship is by far the best way to train and learn the practical skills required within a career such as Hairdressing. Today’s Apprenticeships combine the best of traditional Apprenticeships with the best aspects of modern training systems.

At Dimensions Training Solutions, we feel strongly that the only place to learn the practical skills needed to be a great stylist, is in the commercial salon.

Apprentices spend most of their time in the salon and visit our Training Academy to learn the theory and underpinning knowledge included within the NVQ.

In addition to our team of qualified Hairdressing Trainer/Assessors, we also have a team of Skills For Life Tutors who are available to help those Learners who need assistance with the Key Skills element of the Apprenticeship.

If you are 14/15 and in year 10/11 at school it may be possible for you to spend 1 or 2 days a week following either a ‘Salon Services’ or an NVQ Level 1 Qualification whilst at the same time getting used to the ‘World of Work’.

As a company that’s been involved in the hairdressing business since 1973, with the number of salons owned by the group growing to 11 by the late 80’s. Dimension’s has a second to none track record in knowing first hand, the training needs of salon, staff and apprentices.

As Yorkshire’s largest independent hairdressing training provider, we are currently working with over 150 salons that put their trust in us to help their apprentices to successfully achieve a formal NVQ Qualification.

One thing we realise more than anything is that not all salons are the same or need the same when it comes to training. That’s why the training programmes Dimensions offer can be as flexible as the individual salon wants. Many salons want to deliver the practical training themselves in the commercial salon leaving Dimensions to take care of the theory and essential knowledge. Others look to a training provider that does both the practical and theory training – we are the only provider in Yorkshire that offer each and every salon the bespoke training package they require for their Apprentices.
